About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will contribute to projects that significantly impact our environment and communities.
Working primarily in the UK water market, MMB provides the feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning services needed to keep water flowing and wastewater treated.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects through the outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pump calculations, safe access and lifting arrangements, and above‑ground pipework layouts.
- Coordinate with the project team comprising Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers to ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and to the quality defined by framework specifications.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyond.
- Positively engage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one‑team approach to support them in achieving their aims.
- Support the development of the mechanical engineering team, coaching and mentoring engineers to develop their skill set and identifying the correct resource for the projects.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g. ICE, IMechE) or equivalent experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Methodical approach to problem solving.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
