Location: Central London Campuses | Full-Time | Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum.

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lecturer to support high-quality teaching, assessment, and academic delivery across our programmes. You will contribute to programme management, ensure compliance with OfS B conditions, and provide developmental feedback to enhance student success.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching, Assessment and Student Support
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality learning, teaching, and assessment.
  • Lead modules where required and collaborate with module teams to ensure effective delivery.
  • Design, update, and enhance teaching materials in line with RCL’s teaching framework.
  • Provide academic tutoring, monitor student engagement, and signpost support services.
  • Offer timely formative and summative feedback and promote academic integrity.
  • Participate in moderation, module meetings, and annual monitoring activities.
Academic Management
  • Contribute to quality assurance in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and academic leadership to colleagues.
  • Support inductions, programme development, and curriculum review.
  • Participate in boards, panels, committees, and teaching observations.
  • Analyse student performance data to inform programme improvements.
Person Specification
Essential
  • Postgraduate degree and teaching qualification (e.g., PgCert/PGCAP).
  • SFHEA status or willingness to achieve within 12 months.
  • Significant higher education teaching experience and experience of academic leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, subject expertise, and ability to teach across campuses and online.
  • Experience embedding employability in the curriculum and using digital teaching platforms.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of trends in engineering education.
Desirable
  • Experience in curriculum development, academic management, and partnership delivery.
  • Engagement with academic or industry networks, including External Examiner roles.
  • Relevant publications or scholarly activity.
  • Experience collaborating with businesses to enhance employability.
Working Hours & Flexibility
  • 40 hours per week (schedule may include evenings and weekends)
  • Must be flexible to travel between our Central London campus locations
