Job description
Overview

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Senior Finance Executive to join our Finance team. The Senior Finance Executive works closely with the Head of Financial Control and the Financial Control team who maintain the financial ledgers of the business which forms the foundation of the monthly management information of all banking business units and the annual statutory financial statements of the Bank.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring internal controls are operating correctly and efficiently for financial processes including ensuring procedures and policies are documented.
  • Accounting policy documentation and quarterly horizon scanning for new updates
  • Tax accounting and documentation for direct and indirect taxes
  • Assist in preparation of various HMRC/ONS returns.
  • Cover and support for other members of the Financial Control team as required
  • Assisting on any ad-hoc duties when required
  • Provide support for the preparation of Bank's annual statutory accounts
  • Liaising with external auditors, tax advisors and other service providers
  • Providing necessary support for financial and regulatory reporting projects
  • Ad-hoc reports and projects - System implementation testing, reviewing accounting flow and account mapping
  • Assist in developing new procedures and controls of the finance function
Requirements
  • Part qualified accountant with minimum 2 years' experience
  • Good A Level and GCSE Level grades
  • Experience in an accounting role in Banking/Financial Services preferred
  • High level competence and proficiency in Excel skills, use of spreadsheet for analysis and accounting software programs
  • Good written skills, some experience in documenting processes
  • Good analytical skills and high level of numeracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good Interpersonal / communication skills
