Job summary

A renowned consultancy is seeking a Senior Environmental Data Scientist/Hydrologist to lead teams on challenging projects related to water, transport, and renewable energy. This role requires a strong background in hydrology, expertise in Python and/or R, and the capability to develop and manage hydrological models. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, support scientific research, and enjoy benefits including a competitive salary and opportunities for hybrid working.

Qualifications

  • A UK Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a cognate discipline.
  • Considerable experience of coding, particularly using Python and/or R.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing machine learning models, particularly when applied to environmental data.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of models and methods, utilising various software platforms.
  • Create flow estimation, flood estimation, and catchment models.
  • Identify opportunities for developing hydrological models, utilising machine learning.
