About The Role

This is a key leadership role for a hands-on Sales Manager, based full-time in the Bedford office, responsible for bringing structure, direction, and commercial focus to the sales function.

You will lead and support the sales team, take ownership of house accounts, and act as the commercial bridge between Sales and Client Services. The role is critical in reducing reliance on the Commercial Director by providing confident decision-making, coaching, and operational continuity.

This position suits someone who has previously managed a sales team, is commercially astute, and enjoys being embedded in the day-to-day activity of a growing business.

Key Responsibilities: House Account Management
  • Take ownership of all house accounts, driving retention and revenue growth
  • Build and execute strategic contact and account development plans
  • Identify and deliver upsell and cross-sell opportunities across the client base
Sales Support to Client Services
  • Act as the commercial point of contact for Client Services, providing pricing guidance and sales direction
  • Ensure consistent commercial decision-making across accounts
  • Improve communication flow between Sales and Client Services teams
People Leadership & Coaching
  • Lead, manage, and motivate members of the sales team
  • Deliver coaching, training, and performance improvement plans
  • Support onboarding and development of junior sales hires
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Support sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting
  • Improve CRM usage, data accuracy, and sales process compliance
  • Ensure visibility of sales performance and activity across the business
Commercial Drive & Strategic Execution
  • Drive recovery and growth across underperforming accounts
  • Support the Commercial Director on strategic sales and growth initiatives
About You
  • Proven experience managing and leading a sales team
  • Strong commercial background with experience in account management and new business
  • Confident providing pricing guidance and commercial decision-making support
  • Highly organised with strong reporting and forecasting capability
