Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, motivated GP Principle to join our vibrant, friendly team in Edinburgh City Centre for 7 sessions per week, each of 5 hours duration working Monday full day, Wednesday full day, Thursday PM and Friday full day. Defence union fees paid. We are ideally looking for an experienced GP to join our team on a salaried basis initially, but with the intention of progression to a full profit-sharing partnership after a period of mutual appraisal.

The Hopetoun Practice is situated in central Edinburgh, close to the top of Leith Walk with excellent transport links. We were in the top 10 best rated practices in Edinburgh following the most recent Patient Satisfaction Survey conducted by NHS Scotland. We currently have 3 GP Partners and 2 Salaried GP’s (in addition to this post). We also have 2 PN’s, a Mental Health Nurse, a Physio, 2 Pharmacists and a Pharmacy Technician as well as a Community Link Worker. We have an amazing admin team who are all friendly and hardworking. We have a predominantly young population of just over 7000 patients. We have very few house calls and no extended hours or nursing home commitment. We feel it is important to have a good work/life balance and try to promote this for all staff. To support the multi-disciplinary team we try to ensure all available clinical staff have coffee together mid-morning as well as monthly clinical meetings.
