Job description

We are recruiting for a Reward Manager (compensation) at an exciting time of growth at Laing O'Rourke. You will be joining a well established team, working on reviewing the compensation scheme as well as being involved in a number of projects.

Reward Summary

The Reward Manager (Compensation) is responsible for managing and delivering the organization's compensation programs to ensure they are competitive, fair, and aligned with business objectives.

In the coming year, the role will play a critical part in strategic initiatives such as a review of the pay structure of our Trade colleagues, and the design and implementation of a total remuneration strategy. As well as new compensation approaches, we will be looking at new benefits and policies, all combining to transform our total Reward offering for employees.

We are looking for someone with strong collaboration skills to liaise across the People Function and with Business leaders, to provide expert guidance on pay-related matters.

Key Accountabilities
  • Oversight of ongoing Job Evaluations and maintenance of organisational structure.
  • Conduct market benchmarking and provide insights to ensure competitive positioning.
  • Lead the annual salary review process.
  • Oversight of quarterly promotion and exceptional pay increase process, including providing analysis and insights.
  • In collaboration with our Data Analyst, provide accurate compensation reporting and analytics to senior stakeholders, with a particular focus on our D&I agenda.
  • Ensure compliance with pay equity, transparency, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and training to People Business Partners and Business Leaders and Managers on compensation policies.
  • Critical role in developing and advising on a revised pay structure for our Trade colleagues.
  • Assist with total remuneration strategy design and implementation.
  • Close collaboration with the rest of the Reward team to ensure consistency and cohesion across the overall employee package.
Technical Capabilities or Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience in compensation management within a complex organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Familiarity with job evaluation methodologies (e.g. WTW, Paydata).
  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Some experience of benefits and policy development.
  • It is desirable to have experience in executive pay and / or incentive plans.
