Our van drivers travel to our 32 shops and 4 offices across Bucks and West Herts, making sure that our donations are moved between our shops, e-commerce centre and Retail and Trading hub. They are essential to making sure that we can maximise the income we get from the donations we receive.

Opportunity Details

Opportunity Type: Long-term Commitment

End Date: 30/12/2025

Location: From your office, Outdoor

Time of day: Weekday Mornings

Practical Considerations: You will be moving bags and boxes into and out of the van and so need to be comfortable with moving and handling reasonably heavy loads. We are looking for volunteers who are available any weekday morning.

Requirements
  • Driving licence (full)
  • ID check
  • Experience of driving a transit van or similar type vehicle is desirable
  • Ability to move and handle heavy boxes and bags around the distribution centre and our shops and in and out of the delivery vehicle
  • Personable and polite, representing Rennie Grove Peace in the community
  • Sociable and enjoys engaging with our retail teams, both staff and fellow volunteers

Suitable for: 18 – 25 year olds, Aged 26 and over, Older People, Rehabilitation friendly

Suitable for volunteers interested in: Driving & Transportation, End of Life, Bereavement & Hospices, Retail

Main tasks
  • You will be driving one of our fleet of Rennie Grove Peace charity vehicles.
  • Delivering and collecting goods to and from the distribution centre in Berkhamsted.
  • Handling and moving donated clothes and items in bags and boxes.
