Remote Cook – Roseleigh, Longlands & Middlesbrough Grange

Reports to: The Registered Managers of Roseleigh, Longlands, and Middlesbrough Grange
Job Overview: (Note – In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required.)

  • Prepare menus and agree them with the service users and the managers across the three homes, including any service user preferences, special diets, and specific foods as needed.
  • Prepare and serve all meals in a timely manner.

Location: Based remotely between Roseleigh, Longlands, and Middlesbrough Grange (Middlesbrough). Travel between sites required.
Working Hours: 22 hours per week, across 5 days over a 7-day period, as agreed with the managers.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

Role-specific Duties:

  • Coordinate catering operations across all three homes, ensuring consistency and quality in meal preparation.
  • Support each home’s kitchen team by providing cover where required.
  • Under the supervision of the managers, order supplies for each site following company procedures and cost controls.
  • Maintain efficient stock management systems across all homes.
  • Ensure equipment is used safely and report any faults or hazards immediately.
  • Uphold high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of all individuals supported within the services.

Working with Others:

  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and managers at each home.
  • Share best practice, recipes, and ideas to enhance meal quality and service delivery.
  • Support training and mentoring of new or less experienced kitchen staff.

Other Duties:

  • Provide cover for planned and unplanned absences across the three homes.
  • Assist with menu planning and special dietary requirements for events and occasions.
  • Contribute to staff inductions and performance reviews as required.

Personal and Professional Development:

  • Take responsibility for personal learning and development, completing relevant training and reviews.
  • Seek opportunities to improve catering operations across the three homes.
