Quality Systems Supervisor

Position

Applications are invited for a Quality Systems Supervisor to join our SPF (UK) Ltd site in Doncaster. SPF manufactures key products that “make pet food delicious”. These ingredients are designed to stimulate a cat’s or dog’s appetite encouraging consumption and increasing enjoyment.
This is a part‑time, permanent position working 24 to 30 hours per week. We have a degree of flexibility regarding work patterns and hours for this role and will seek to blend business needs and individual requirements as required.
Experience within the feed industry would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acting as the liaison between SPF UK and Symrise quality teams.
  • Ensuring SPF and Symrise quality requirements are incorporated into the SPF UK Quality Management System and SOPs.
  • Participating in supplier qualification and evaluation.
  • Monitoring production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Conducting raw material checks, ingredient spot checks, and completing ABPR sheets.
  • Performing internal factory calibrations (scales, moisture, and pH levels).
  • Organising sample and swab testing within required timeframes.
  • Completing NIR (Near Infrared Spectroscopy) and chemistry testing.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports (paper and digital).
  • Leading audits including internal, glass, HACCP, ISO 9001, FSSC, and GMP audits.
  • Investigating and following up on audit findings and non‑conformances.
  • Compiling monthly quality reports and escalating discrepancies.
  • Supervising day‑to‑day product quality, HACCP, and documentation control.
  • Leading monthly quality meetings and participating in HACCP discussions.
  • Overseeing hygiene and pest control standards within the SPF area.
  • Managing daily cleaning schedules and CIP systems.
  • Identifying training needs and supporting staff development.
  • Carrying out additional duties as required by management.
About You
  • Educated to a good standard.
  • Knowledgeable in HACCP systems, auditing, traceability, and quality management.
  • Experienced within the feed industry (advantageous).
  • A strong communicator, able to engage confidently at all levels.
  • Initiative‑taking, organised, and capable of meeting strict deadlines.
Salary

Pro‑rata salary depending on hours worked (full‑time equivalent £35,000).
