About the OPPORTUNITY

We currently have a new and exciting opportunity for Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Strategic Surveillance business based at Edinburgh Parks, SA.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as 9 days fortnight working arrangement

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for performing a range of planned quality activities designed to provide assurance to management that quality practices are being effectively deployed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform compliance testing and monitoring to ensure the adherence to regulatory, license and standard requirements
  • Manage non-conformances to ensure that products shipped meet customer requirements
  • Conduct quality investigations and recommend, communicate and provide reporting of compliance and initiate remedial actions as required
  • Provide coaching, advice and support to stakeholders on quality assurance related matters and processes
  • Undertake quality process system activities including quality assurance reviews and validate data to ensure it meets program requirements
  • Champion the quality assurance activities, ensuring quality standards/outcomes are achieved and in line with quality standards, program and company requirements
  • Conduct internal audits and process checks and provide support with corrective and preventative actions
  • Collaborate effectively and build good relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture
  • Support/implement continuous improvement and quality engineering/assurance improvement activities and assist Quality planning activities in the business area including associated assurance activities
  • Contribute to the management and effectiveness of the “business management system” process asset library
About YOU
  • Demonstrated quality assurance experience and individuals with experience in advanced manufacturing, engineering or in a relevant field, will also be considered
  • Highly experienced in management of production defects and handling of non-conforming product, including root cause analysis to prevent further recurrence
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, the ability to develop reports and documents
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build good relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under their own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost
  • An understanding of Quality, Safety, Environmental & Asset Management Standards (9100, 45001, 14001, 55001) and practices is regarded but not mandatory

Whilst not essential, a Lead Auditor qualification or a relevant technical qualification, or Maritime industry experience, will be highly regarded
