The Quality Control & Methods Engineer (Civil)
Leads and executes civil quality control activities across major facilities projects within the Oil & Gas sector. Ensures all civil works meet required specifications, technical standards, regulatory requirements, and project Quality Plans/ITPs. Supervises QC operations, validates contractor documentation, supports site inspections, and oversees vendor performance to maintain technical integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Contributes to developing QC methodologies and procedures, resolves quality-related issues, and works closely with internal teams, contractors, and third‑party authorities to uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Verifies adherence to the Project Quality Plan and ITP requirements during civil execution.
- Reviews and validates QC documentation from contractors and vendors.
- Ensures civil activities comply with the established project Quality Control System.
- Maintains accurate and timely reporting of QC performance.
- Assesses the quality capabilities of contractors and supports capability improvement.
- Provides technical assistance in resolving quality‑related issues.
- Site and Vendor Oversight:
- Supervises civil QC inspections at construction sites and workshops.
- Ensures QC verifications are completed in accordance with approved QCPs and ITPs.
- Conducts technical audits for vendors and contractors.
- Coordinates activities with third‑party validation and certification bodies.
- Documentation and Process Development:
- Develops and maintains civil QC procedures, inspection forms, and non‑conformance tools.
- Reviews QC documents submitted by contractors and vendors.
- Ensures sufficient availability and competency of QC inspectors.
- Generates periodic QC reports and escalates critical issues.
- Identifies quality deficiencies and recommends corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Participates in site quality meetings and reviews.
- Works closely with internal engineering teams to maintain project alignment.
- Communicates and coordinates with contractors, suppliers, authorities, and professional entities.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Technical Diploma required.
- Knowledge of Civil Works technical codes (e.g., ACI) strongly preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Minimum 3 years of QA/QC experience in civil works.
