The Role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will work closely with the Quality Manager on a wide range of manufacturing quality assurance activities to ensure KPIs are achieved. You will play an integral role in investigating and responding to non‑conformances, analysing production quality data, driving continuous improvement, maintaining and calibrating inspection equipment, and supporting both internal and external audits.

The successful candidate will work within the Quality Assurance department, supporting key processes including New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Realisation, with a strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), ideally within the aerospace or advanced manufacturing industries. Experience in reviewing engineering drawings, machining techniques for metal parts, and supplier auditing, qualification, and monitoring is highly desirable.

Main responsibilities
  • Ensure safe working practices and compliance with company HSE requirements
  • Support Quality, Compliance, and Materials QC departments
  • Carry out internal audits and, preferably, audits of external suppliers and subcontracted processes
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, and review inspection reports including FAIRs
  • Liaise with Quality Managers and external stakeholders on quality issues
  • Collaborate with other departments on operational and continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct activities related to SAP QM, CAPA, internal audits, and concessions, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Any other duties within the post holder’s competence as requested
What you need to be successful
  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Operations, Material Science, Chemistry, or related discipline
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or aerospace quality assurance role
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance tools and methodologies (e.g., CAPA)
  • Internal Auditor experience in EN 9100 Rev D
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Experience with machining processes and supplier quality audits
  • Familiarity with inspection equipment and quality reporting (FAIRs)
  • Competence with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with SAP QM and document control systems (e.g., SharePoint)
  • Excellent communication skills, proactive mindset, and strong team ethic

You will be employed on a permanent contract working from our site in Swinton, Greater Manchester, working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday with flexibility to meet business need. You will demonstrate excellent teamwork and accountability, influencing colleagues in other departments.
