About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Advisor to join our team at Balfour Beatty, supporting our overhead line (OHL) projects across the east coast of Scotland, particularly in the Angus area. This role is crucial in ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance, aligning with customer and stakeholder requirements.

What you'll be doing
  • Deliver projects in accordance with customer and stakeholder requirements, including verification activities to demonstrate compliance with Balfour Beatty standards, external accreditations, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate, submit, manage, and ensure compliance with all assurance activities, resolving any related issues.
  • Implement procedures, including submissions from the supply chain, and establish test and inspection plans for project delivery.
  • Support project teams in developing and following quality plans and inspection & test plans, ensuring customer and project requirements are met.
  • Assist delivery teams in achieving required deliverables and managing issues, providing quality advice to the supply chain where appropriate.
  • Utilise existing systems to establish and agree on sample and benchmark plans with customers and the supply chain.
  • Use digital systems to monitor the performance of quality planning, production of quality deliverables, and managing issues against targets.
  • Support project teams in collating and delivering handover records as per customer requirements, on time.
  • Work according to the processes and procedures of the Business Management System.
  • Support the Quality team during internal and external audits.
  • Implement project or business stream quality strategies, plans, and actions across the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in training, coaching, and developing quality skills, including sharing lessons learned.
  • Foster a culture of continual improvement.
  • Undertake specific investigations and/or reporting on quality-related issues as required.
  • Support the use of appropriate digital tools to support project governance and quality assurance measures, including training on those tools.

Who we're looking for
  • Prior quality experience and/or relevant operational/technical experience to meet industry sector demands.
  • Relevant academic qualification in quality management, in lieu of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO9000 terminology.
  • Understanding and commitment to Quality Management.
  • Awareness of business improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to gather, analyse, and evaluate facts.
  • Ability to work to plans and programmes.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to seeing tasks through to completion.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and effective influencing abilities.
  • Ability to deliver reports orally and in writing objectively.

  • Experience using Digital Progressive Assurance systems/Electronic Forms.
  • Operational experience in construction or asset management.
