Job description

Do you thrive in a role where timing, detail, and communication are everything?

At Bowers Group, we take precision seriously—both in our products and in how we operate behind the scenes. As part of the Spear & Jackson Group, we’re proud to be part of a legacy built on quality, innovation, and reliability. We’re now looking for a Purchasing & Supply Chain Assistant to join our procurement team in Bradford, supporting the logistics and purchasing functions that keep our business running efficiently.

Reporting directly to the Senior Purchasing and Procurement Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our supply chain is both responsive and robust. This is a hands‑on role where accuracy and initiative are essential. You’ll be managing purchase orders from creation through to delivery, liaising with suppliers, arranging logistics, and keeping internal stakeholders updated on delivery performance. It’s a varied position that will give you exposure to both procurement and operations, with room to develop and add value from day one.

You’ll also be responsible for maintaining accurate purchasing records, ensuring supplier documentation is kept up to date, and supporting our service team with timely part deliveries. There will be regular interaction with vendors, so strong communication skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships professionally will be key. While SAP experience would be advantageous, it’s not essential—we’re more interested in someone who is organised, proactive, and eager to learn.

This position is based fully on‑site in Bradford and aligns to the factory operating hours, which provides the structure and collaboration necessary for success in a role that supports daily operations. If you’re detail‑oriented, comfortable working at pace, and keen to be part of a business that values precision at every level, we’d love to hear from you.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, please email your CV to careers@spearandjacksongroup.com , along with a brief note explaining why you believe this role is a good fit for you, including your salary expectations.

Please note that you must have the Right to Work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
