Overview

Product Lead for Data Collection (12 month FTC) – London, UK

Team

Prolific is the architect of the human data infrastructure for AI development. We focus on the quality and diversity of human-generated data to differentiate products and models.

Role

This is a 12 month fixed-term contract (FTC) with potential to convert to full-time employment based on performance and business needs. As our Product Lead for Data Collection at Prolific, you will lead strategy and execution for cross-functional product teams focused on our data collectors, their jobs, and their success on Prolific. You’ll oversee data collection tools and orchestration products (UI and API) and will be charged with building new products within our product family. You will report to the VP of Product and collaborate with product-minded software engineers, AI engineers and scientists, designers, data scientists, user researchers, and other product people across our Groups.

In addition to owning overall strategic and roadmap accountability for your group, you will also be hands-on as the product manager for at least one team. You will have people management responsibilities for product managers in your Group. Strong computational thinking, conceptual clarity, and the ability to make tricky tradeoffs in complex prioritisation landscapes are essential.

• Lead a seasoned product career to solve user problems and create opportunities for external and internal data collectors to enjoy the Prolific experience.
• Elevate Prolific’s Product Management to a world-leading standard, focusing on bets and products that deliver customer value and commercial impact.
• Coach behaviours and skills, and model effective product management through hands-on work.
• Unblock and simplify complexity so colleagues gain clarity and optimism when approaching problems.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and data teams, sharing user research, delivery, and analysis responsibilities.

What you’ll bring

• Deep passion for ethical and/or safe AI, AI training/finetuning, benchmarking and evaluation methods, and human feedback for AI systems.
• Competence in most or all of:
• The industry’s prevailing product tools and frameworks
• High-velocity, continuous product development
• Agile and lean principles, thin or vertical slicing
• Leveraging AI tools as a product leader
• Strong data literacy and data-informed decision-making, with ability to coach this
• Ability to make strong bets in data-poor environments
• People management or extensive coaching experience with a track record of developing world-class technologists
• A love for storytelling and holding a room’s attention
