Join Our Team: Sourcing Lead (Part Time)

Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Employment Type: Part Time

Are you an experienced procurement professional looking to take the lead in a stand‑alone role, where you can drive forward all things procurement? Within this role you will be working with a newly implemented supplier management system and will play a critical role in building and maintaining effective supplier relationships and performance, whilst collaborating with relevant departments to ensure effective delivery from suppliers to the business.

What You’ll Do
  • Support first‑line business owners in identifying and selecting suppliers through in‑depth research and analysis of financial stability, capacity, reputation, and quality standards.
  • Lead and manage end‑to‑end RFI/RFP processes, ensuring decisions are transparent, evidence‑based, and fully auditable.
  • Build and nurture strong supplier relationships to foster collaboration and deliver long‑term value.
  • Analyse procurement spend and identify cost‑saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and category management.
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to conduct supplier due diligence, ongoing monitoring, and KPI tracking.
  • Oversee smooth onboarding of new suppliers, ensuring seamless integration with finance systems and business processes.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Finance, Risk, and other stakeholders to align procurement activities with budgets and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate sourcing documentation and provide regular reporting on supplier performance, cost savings, and key procurement metrics.
  • Champion sustainable procurement practices, ensuring supplier compliance with ESG goals and TCFD reporting requirements.
Essential Qualifications
  • Proven experience in sourcing/procurement or a similar role within the financial/professional services sector (3+ years).
  • Strong negotiation and commercial mindset.
  • Experience ensuring all relevant standards and best practices (including TCFD requirements) are met in relation to supply chain management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Background in financial analytics/reporting with ability to present to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Industry network to maintain and promote best practices.
Desirable
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
  • Experience with ESG integration and sustainability practices in procurement.
