Process Engineer - Industrial Wastewater Treatment Projects

Location: Glanua, Wakefield, England, United Kingdom

Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide practical and technical support for environmental consultancy projects on commercial, industrial, municipal wastewater and sludge processing projects.

Responsibilities
  • Operational and Commissioning Support – on-site and desk-based technical process support for operational, commissioning and process consultancy projects.
  • Project Management – manage all project aspects including proposals, RAMS, resources, time, contractors, client relationships and financials.
  • Support QHSE manager with development, implementation and continual improvement of standard procedures and quality systems.
  • Business Development – develop a network of existing and new clients and manage client relationships to support growth.
Qualifications
  • BSc or BEng (minimum) in relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dynamic problem‑solving approach and ability to think outside the box.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK; short-term away work possible.
  • Full clean driver’s licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge in water/wastewater chemistry, microbiology, engineering.
  • Practical experience on industrial or water utility sites.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to develop SOPs and scientific reports.
  • Good awareness of H&S requirements (RAMS, permits, inductions).
  • Customer‑facing experience in a professional setting.
  • Understanding of site engineering (pumps, mixers, aeration systems, control philosophies).
Preferred Experience
  • Developing and undertaking laboratory methods.
  • Strong report‑writing skills.
  • Business development skills.
