A leading engineering firm is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer based in Peterborough, offering hybrid work options. The role involves providing technical reviews on civil and pipeline engineering for clean and wastewater projects, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring that all designs meet current standards. Candidates should have significant experience in engineering disciplines and strong collaboration and communication skills.
We are looking to strengthen our Engineering team in the @one Alliance with a Lead Infrastructure Engineer based at Peterborough or a suitable Anglian regional office with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Senior Design Manager and your role will provide civil and pipeline engineering technical reviews, guidance and inputs to both clean water and water recycling infrastructure projects. You will provide design support for numerous infrastructure schemes and will ensure all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.
You will have dual lines of reporting into both the programme area Senior Design Manager (Engineering) and the Principal Infrastructure Engineer. You will provide support to the engineering delivery teams by undertaking review and acceptance of key project deliverables (PCI; drawings / models; calculations) across an entire programme area for infrastructure (pipeline) related work. The role includes providing technical expertise in either clean or wastewater pipeline engineering design. You will also work with the principal infrastructure engineer to maintain engineering standards across all the @one alliance whilst working on continuous business improvement and innovation. You will be mentoring more junior engineers in the team. The role of the lead infrastructure engineer is not to be assigned to deliver individual named projects but provide technical leadership and support in the delivery of all projects within a programme area.
Within the role you will also be looking to develop innovative methods where applicable. Encouraging and developing engineers to identify potential designs (both innovative and existing) that can be used as a ‘standard product’ to promote both self-learning, and design appreciation; and that can potentially be used by the wider business to promote efficiency and highlight the significant benefits of collaboration.
In the role you will work in collaboration with other stakeholders throughout the business to drive continuous developments in engineering, design, and innovation.
To join us on our exciting and challenging journey for engineering excellence, you will preferably (but not essentially) be educated to degree level in water/wastewater engineering or a related subject.
