With the onset of the global economy, its payments infrastructure is shaping how banks, fintechs, and businesses everywhere collect, convert, and disburse funds instantly across borders. Nium's growing card issuance business is already available in 34 countries. Nium holds regulatory licenses and authorizations in more than 40 countries, enabling seamless onboarding, rapid integration, and compliance – independent of geography. The company is co‑headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and curious graduate to join Nium’s growing Project Management Office (PMO) as a PMO Associate. This is a unique opportunity to start your career at the heart of a global fintech company, working directly with teams that shape Nium’s most important strategic initiatives. This position is intended as a long‑term pathway into Nium, and the expected outcome after the first year is transition into a full‑time Project Analyst role.

Reporting to the Global Head of PMO, who in turn reports to the COO, you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to how projects are planned, executed, and delivered in a fast‑paced, international environment.

You’ll be involved across three key areas:

  • Supporting project management and strategic planning
  • Contributing to reporting, communications, and cross‑functional coordination
  • Assisting the Global Head of PMO with strategic and operational priorities

This is a role that will be what you make of it— the more you put in, the more you’ll learn, contribute, and grow. You’ll have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, such as:

  • Regulatory and compliance initiatives across multiple jurisdictions
  • Internal process improvement and transformation projects
  • Market expansion and license applications
  • Implementation of enterprise‑wide technologies
  • Strategic reviews and executive reporting
About the team

The PMO is a recently established function at Nium operating across the entire organisation to ensure there is a unified project environment where projects are run professionally, every initiative is visible, governed and aligned with strategic objectives—delivering consistent value across the organisation.

The function’s strategic objectives are:

Timeliness: improve ratio of on‑time delivery of projects, reduce/eliminate delays.

Resource utilisation: reduce number of projects started not completed; corporate objectives alignment.

Standardisation: establish global standards for delivering projects.

Visibility: improve visibility and prioritisation of projects; single source of truth for projects globally.

Governance: ensure project governance and a level of professionalism running projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be supported and mentored while taking increasing ownership over time.

  • Supporting the coordination and tracking of cross‑functional projects from initiation to delivery.
  • Helping maintain project documentation, reports, and dashboards in line with PMO standards.
  • Assisting with project planning, scheduling, and stakeholder communications.
  • Taking part in workshops, drafting meeting notes, and following up on key actions.
  • Learning how to identify risks and dependencies and helping teams stay on track.
  • Championing organisation and accountability in everything you do.
  • Your first week will focus on structured onboarding and training with the HR and PMO teams. Over the following weeks, you will begin supporting live projects, initially observing and learning, then gradually assuming ownership of defined responsibilities as you grow into the role.
Requirements
  • Although prior project management experience would be a plus, it’s the right mindset and potential we are after.
  • A recent graduate (any discipline) with strong interest in project management, operations, business strategy and fintech.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and eager to learn how large‑scale projects come together.
  • Clear communicator who enjoys working with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Analytical thinker who likes solving problems and improving processes.
  • Comfortable with technology and data (experience with tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or project management software is a plus).
  • Driven, curious, and ready to take ownership of your development.
