Overview

Personal Assistants for a young lady in Scarborough area - Scarborough - YO13. Personal assistants are required to support a 19 year old young lady in the school holidays and occasional weekends. This will include activities at home and out and about on a 2:1 basis. There will also be outings with the family. The young lady enjoys being outdoors, going for walks, swimming and cafes. She is autistic with learning disabilities and epilepsy and is also doubly incontinent and requires personal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the young lady during school holidays and occasional weekends.
• Assist with activities at home and outings with the family, including outdoor activities, walks, swimming and visits to cafes.
• Participate in outings with the young lady on a 2:1 basis.
• Provide personal care as required.
• Work as part of a flexible bank of personal assistants to accommodate varying hours.

Hours and pay

• Casual/Ad-hoc hours with flexibility.
• From September, wrap-around college care at home on a 1:1 basis.
• Hours (September): Monday to Friday, 8:00–9:30am and 3:30–5:30pm (3.5 hours per day). Term time only. Rate of pay £14.30 per hour.

Requirements and preferences

• Experience is not essential, but you must be comfortable with swimming and like dogs.
• Ok with swimming and comfortable with personal care tasks as needed.
• Flexibility to build a bank of personal assistants to offer varying hours.
