At The Letting Partnership, we're the backbone for letting agents across the UK, providing crucial support in client money protection. Our stellar reputation is built on exceptional customer service, dedication, and expertise. Over the past two years, our client base has tripled, and we're gearing up for even more growth.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team!

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and sign off Accountant’s Reports in accordance with CMP scheme requirements (e.g. Propertymark, Client Money Protect, Safeagent, UKALA, Money Shield), using your ACA or ACCA qualification and valid practising certificate to formally certify compliance.
  • Design and refine the internal process for delivering Accountant’s Reports — including engagement documentation, KYC procedures, and audit templates — working with our global development team to automate where appropriate and leverage technology for efficiency.
  • Utilise purpose-built tools and AI-supported workflows to streamline audit preparation and reporting, allowing more time for expert analysis and less for manual admin.
  • Conduct remote audits of client accounting records through online submissions and virtual meetings (Zoom/Teams) — with no travel required.
  • Review and evaluate client bank reconciliations, client money handling practices, and trust account controls to ensure compliance with scheme standards.
  • Support and guide clients through the CMP audit process, translating technical requirements into clear, practical advice.
  • Assess the demand for additional outsourcing services including statutory accounts, year-end financial statements, management reporting, payroll, and bookkeeping when needed.
  • Support wider finance operations as needed including bookkeeping, payroll, management reporting, and year-end accounts — particularly during the initial build phase of the Accountant’s Report function, with the view to recruiting additional resource as demand grows.
  • Collaborate across teams, presenting findings and recommendations clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a valid practising certificate (required for delivering Accountant’s Reports).
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of client accounting principles and statutory compliance.
  • Proficient in cloud accounting platforms and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Experience in auditing or preparing reports for regulatory or compliance purposes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with the lettings or property management industry.
  • Experience in a practice or outsourced finance environment.
  • Ability to explain financial issues clearly to non-finance professionals.
What We Offer
  • Flexible, part-time working hours within a supportive office environment.
  • The opportunity to shape and grow an essential service offering.
  • No travel required – all audits and reviews are conducted remotely.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team focused on trust and compliance in the lettings industry.
