Job summary

A local charity in Huddersfield is recruiting an Oral Health Co-ordinator for a 12-month temporary role. The successful candidate will lead the Kirklees Supervised Toothbrushing Scheme and manage staff and volunteers to improve oral health for children aged 2–5 in deprived areas. Essential qualifications include experience with families, effective management skills, and strong organisational abilities. The position requires some evening/weekend work, flexibility, and a commitment to safeguarding children.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for: Oral Health Co-ordinator (Temporary 12 month contract) (possibility of extension subject to continued funding)

Location: Huddersfield Town Centre Office (parking available)

Salary: NJC Scale SCP 14-21. Starting salary SCP14 (£29,540)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Job Type: We have a vacancy for an Oral Health Co-ordinator to lead the delivery of the Kirklees Supervised Toothbrushing Scheme and associated oral health initiatives. The post holder will manage staff and volunteers, liaise with early years settings and community partners, and ensure high standards of practice and safeguarding. This role is key to reducing oral health inequalities and improving outcomes for children aged 2–5 in the most deprived areas of Kirklees

Essential requirements include:

  • Experience of working with families and/or volunteers
  • Ability to manage staff and volunteers effectively
  • Ability to develop and deliver training and support to volunteers and early years practitioners
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace
  • Car driver/owner (expenses will be paid)
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings/weekends
