A leading ophthalmic clinic in London is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Clinic Nurse to assist in retinal surgeries. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years pre and post-op experience and be confident with diagnostic imaging equipment. Comprehensive training is offered for nurses without an ophthalmic background. Qualifications

Ophthalmic Clinic Nurse
Private Clinic – Harley Street
£35,000 - £38,000
Full time – Permanent

King Healthcare are currently assisting a leading Ophthalmic Private Clinic on Harley Street in their search for an Ophthalmic Clinic Nurse. This client is an established Harley Street Clinic with an onsite operating theatre and advanced diagnostic and imaging facilities.

The Role

In this position you will need to effectively assist and manage all aspects of retinal surgeries (cataract and vitrectomy) as well as assist the Research team with the retinal studies such as YAG laser vitreolysis and surgery for Vision Degrading Myodesopsiae, Photo-Biomodulation and Gene Therapy in AMD, Wide Field OCT and Imaging of the Peripheral Vitreoretinal Interface, amongst others. You will need to be confident in using all the latest diagnostic and research resources including Optomap digital wide- field multispectral imaging, Microperimetry, 3D Fourier-Domain as well as the new Infra-Red Swept Source DRI Cross-Sectional OCT, wide-field OCT, OCT angiography and Photo-Biomodulation, amongst others and be able to effectively troubleshoot each machine.

The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm.

The Candidate

The ideal applicant for this role will be an experienced Ophthalmic Nurse or a Nurse with 2 years’ + pre and post op experience. You should be confident in assisting with all retina surgeries (vitrectomy and cataract), study surgeries and procedures including indirect laser, FFA, Photo-Biomodulation, Intravitreal Injections, centrifuge, drawing blood and processing urine and blood samples.

Although someone with a background in Ophthalmics would be advantageous, my client will consider a qualified nurse with an interest to work in this field and are able to provide full training in this area.

Salary and Benefits

The salary on offer for this position is between £35,000 – £38,000 dependent on experience. In addition are several benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private health cover, private pension scheme, employee discounts etc.
