Job description

Department: Operations

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Salary: £25,000–£27,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with increased output during peak periods

Location: Manchester (Cheadle) Office-based with some flexibility.

About the role

The Operations Assistant role supports the day‑to‑day delivery of Powder24’s travel products across our portfolio of brands. Working closely with experienced operations colleagues, this role helps ensure that the systems, logistics, and behind‑the‑scenes details that underpin our holidays run smoothly and efficiently.

This is an entry‑level role, ideal for someone early in their career who is highly organised, systems‑minded, and keen to learn how complex travel operations come together. You will be responsible for executing operational tasks with guidance and support, escalating issues when needed, and contributing to a fast‑moving environment that changes significantly across the year.

Operations at Powder24 span transport, events, staffing, and ancillaries. While the exact focus of the role may vary, the core expectation is the same: to support operational delivery through strong administration, clear communication, and reliable attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

Depending on the operational area, responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the planning, booking, and administration of operational logistics such as transport, accommodation, events, or ancillary products
  • Maintaining accurate data across internal systems, trackers, and shared tools
  • Coordinating information between internal teams, suppliers, and delivery partners
  • Responding to operational queries and assisting with issue resolution, escalating where appropriate
  • Supporting peak‑period delivery by helping manage last‑minute changes and urgent requests
  • Assisting with the preparation and distribution of operational information and documentation
  • Providing general administrative support to the wider operations team as required

This role may include occasional overseas travel or on‑the‑ground support during peak operational periods, as needed.

Skills and experience
Essential
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with systems, spreadsheets, and shared tools (Excel or Google Sheets)
  • Able to follow processes accurately while adapting when circumstances change
  • Clear and confident communicator, particularly in written communication
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a time‑pressured environment
  • Willing to learn, take feedback, and develop new skills
Desirable
  • Previous experience in an operations, logistics, travel, or events environment
  • Familiarity with fast‑paced, seasonal, or deadline‑driven work
  • Interest in travel, logistics, or live delivery environments
Behaviours and ways of working
  • Successful Operations Assistants at Powder24 typically demonstrate:
  • Systems thinking: understanding how individual tasks fit into a wider operational picture
  • Adaptability: remaining calm and flexible when plans change
  • A growth mindset: actively seeking to learn, improve, and build capability over time
  • Strong organisation: managing detail without losing sight of priorities
  • Reliability: delivering tasks accurately and on time, especially during peak periods
Working at Powder24

Powder24 is the platform behind a portfolio of specialist travel brands. While each brand operates independently, our operations teams work collaboratively across the group to deliver high‑quality experiences.

This role is office‑centric, with increased output during peak seasons. The nature of ski travel operations means that some evening, weekend, or peak‑period work may be required, balanced by quieter periods at other times of the year

What you’ll get with us
  • Competitive salary plus bonus of up to 15%
  • Legendary all‑expenses‑paid Team Ski trip, open to everyone
  • Generous travel perks, including staff, friends and family discounts and Powder24 travel credit
  • Long service rewards, including additional annual leave
  • Mental health support with confidential counselling through Spill
  • Fitness, wellbeing, and lifestyle perks via WellHub
  • A strong social calendar and team events throughout the year
  • Clear development opportunities, exposure to senior leaders, and support to grow your career
  • A supportive, down‑to‑earth culture where people genuinely look out for each other
