About Us

The Richard Pate School is owned and operated by Pate’s Grammar School Foundation. It is a successful co-ed independent day school for 3-11 year olds in Cheltenham. We offer children a broad education in modern, purpose-built facilities. The School also provides a varied extra-curricular programme, as well as offering a Breakfast Club and After School Care.

Our Nursery is situated in a separate building, and enjoys its own outdoor learning area as well as access to the school’s wider facilities, including a woodland. Children are accepted from the age of three. Hot lunches are provided from the school’s kitchen.

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work within the Early Years Foundation Stage in our outstanding, popular Nursery for the summer term of 2025.

In summary the role is as follows:

  • Full-time, term-time only post, for a fixed term: Summer term of 2025
  • Hours 08.30 – 16.00, Monday to Friday.
  • Salary £25,183 – £25,992 Full Time Equivalent, dependent on experience.
  • To promote the learning and personal development of the children in the Nursery, and to support the Early Years Lead in delivering the Early Years curriculum.
  • Start date 22 April 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.

To be successful in this role you must be:

  • Qualified to Level 3 for the appropriate age range
  • Secure in your understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
  • Caring, nurturing and committed to the safeguarding of children
  • A good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
