Job summary

Our team is committed to delivering excellent service to Cardiff’s residents and visitors, ensuring high standards in street cleansing, waste management, and environmental quality.

About the job

As a Neighbourhood Services Supervisor, you will coordinate and monitor all cleansing and Street Scene Enforcement activities throughout the city. You will provide leadership and support to operational teams, ensuring effective service delivery in line with Council and statutory requirements. The role involves managing resources, developing staff, monitoring performance, and working with internal and external partners to improve service standards and outcomes for Cardiff’s communities.

What We Are Looking For From You
  • Experience of working within an operational team, ideally in street cleansing or waste management.
  • Good level of literacy and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • IT literate, with the ability to use Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and quickly learn new systems.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage complex problems.
  • Ability to provide leadership, support, and coaching to team members.
  • Knowledge of relevant service specifications, requirements, and the legislative framework.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Full valid driving licence and/or access to own transport.
  • Commitment to the Council’s Equality and Diversity Policy and corporate safeguarding responsibilities.

Monday to Friday 15.30 – 23.30

  • The post may involve shift work, including weekends and bank holidays (excluding Christmas Day).

A full, valid driving licence is an essential requirement of this role.
