Job summary

A healthcare organization in the Teeside area is seeking a Craftsperson (Mechanical) Plumber to maintain and repair properties. The role involves pre-planned maintenance and reactive works within NHS properties. Candidates must complete a mechanical bias apprenticeship and have strong knowledge of health and safety legislation. This role requires the ability to travel independently and participate in an on-call rota, contributing to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Must have successful completion of a recognised mechanical bias apprenticeship.
• Must have NVQ Level 3 in mechanical bias or equivalent qualification.
• Experience of working in an NHS environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide an efficient and cost-effective maintenance and repair service.
• Assist other trades and contractors as per service need.
• Ensure tools and equipment are tested and maintained.

Skills

Working knowledge of H&C water systems in complex properties

Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical plant including boilers and diesel engines

Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation

Good working knowledge of British Standards and ACOPs

Multi-skilled mechanical experience

Working knowledge of Gas Safe legislation

Understanding of associated trades and relationships

Education

Successful completion of a recognised mechanical bias apprenticeship

NVQ Level 3 (mechanical bias) or equivalent

Numeracy and Literacy to level 2
