Job description

Due to continued success and growth, JEM Property Services Group Ltd are looking to recruit an experienced General Maintenance Operative to join our team in Portsmouth.

About The Role

We are looking for a committed individual to join our team as a Multi Trade operative preferably with reactive / responsive maintenance experience. The successful applicant will be a team player who can also work on their own. Must be able to work to high standards, both in works delivered and customer/client relations. Have a can‑do attitude and be flexible approach. Possess excellent communication skills, report writing and working from a PDA is required.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Liaising with the scheduling team and Operations Manager.
  • Responding to emergency and planned call outs.
  • Plumbing – fault finding and repairs on plumbing toilets, taps, sinks, leaks, and blockages. Escape of water including making safe and repairs.
  • Carpentry – repair doors and door furniture including panic bars, handles and locks and door closers.
  • An advantage would be tiling and patch plastering.
  • Decorating skills.
  • General maintenance repairs.
  • Weekend working on a rotation.

Requirements

Ideally the successful candidate should have knowledge and experience over multiple disciplines – plumbing, carpentry, tiling, painting and decorating, general maintenance repairs as the works are quite varied.

  • Must have a minimum of 2 4 years experience in a similar role.
  • Hold formal trade qualifications.
  • Able to pass or hold a current DRB security check.
  • Clean driving licence.
