WasteCo NZ Ltd are proud to deliver a wide range of waste management services across the South Island, from household and commercial collections to specialised medical and quarantine waste handling, industrial and utility services (Portaloo, city sweeping, spill response, hydrovac, wastewater), and waste sorting at both on‑site and purpose‑built facilities. Our focus is always on safety, service, and reducing waste to landfill.
If you enjoy hands‑on work, being out and about, and operating a variety of machinery, this Driver / Labourer role in Timaru could be a great fit.
You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment such as blower vacuums, sweepers, compactors, and water blaster trucks. Your work will support daily waste operations across the CBD, ensuring our customers receive reliable, high‑quality service. No two days will look the same, and you’ll be part of a team that values safety, teamwork, and getting the job done right.
This is a permanent, full‑time role working Monday to Friday (40 hours per week), with start times that may be as early as 4am. Occasional weekend work and occasional support in Oamaru may be required, so flexibility is important.
We are looking for:
At least 2 years of driving experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential)
A full driver’s licence with Class 2 (Class 4 is a bonus)
F, D and G endorsement (preferred)
Someone who is flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude
Basic computer skills and confidence using an iPad (preferred not essential)
Solutions-focused and customer-oriented mindset
Ability to manage tie-sensitive tasks and juggle multiple priorities
A team player with a good work ethic
Enjoy the freedom of being on the road while driving safely, keeping your truck in great shape, the satisfaction of hands‑on work, and the support of a team that values safety, reliability and getting the job done right. Every day brings something different, and your contribution genuinely makes a difference in the community.
Ready to roll up your sleeves? We’d love to hear from you!
