Farid Hillend Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Modern Apprentice in Accounting. Based at our manufacturing site in Dalgety Bay, this opportunity allows you to kickstart your financial career while gaining real‑world work experience.

Farid Hillend Engineering is a well-established organisation operating for over 50 years, designing and producing Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs) for the UK & Ireland, Europe and beyond. If you are interested in becoming part of a diverse and successful manufacturing company this may be the opportunity for you!

This qualification is delivered with the support of Babington on a work‑based programme and allows the successful candidate to gain a recognised qualification within the industry – AAT Certificate in Accounting (SCQF Level 6).

Learning Areas & Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable – Processing invoices, managing supplier relationships and ensuring timely payments.
  • Credit Control – Monitoring customer accounts and maintaining a healthy cash flow.
  • Management Accounts – Assisting with day‑to‑day finance operations, month‑end reporting, budgets and audits.
  • IT & Finance Systems – Using various IT systems and finance tools.
  • Communication & Teamwork – Working in a professional environment with clear communication.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of three National 5 Level grades, including Maths and English.
  • A genuine interest in finance, numbers, and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Motivation to achieve qualifications while gaining practical experience.
  • Determined, enthusiastic can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work with others, communicate, and build strong working relationships across departments.
