Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team, responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across various commercial premises. The ideal candidate will possess experience in janitorial services and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring all areas are hygienic and presentable. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals committed to delivering quality service in a professional environment.

Working hours are split between AM and PM depending on which site needs covering, must be flexible as sometimes the cover could be last minute.

This position will be to provide cover cleaning around Leeds, Wakefield and surrounding areas.

Rate of pay is £13 per hour plus £50 per month car allowance, all parking fees and fuel and travel allowance will be paid at the end of the month.

An Enhanced DBS will be applied for but having one on update system would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of designated areas
• Clean and sanitise washrooms, kitchens, and communal spaces to meet health and safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, windows, fixtures, and surfaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and products
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet roll as needed
• Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and visitors
• Report any maintenance issues or hazards identified during cleaning routines to management promptly

Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment usage
• Strong attention to detail with organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable with a professional attitude towards hygiene standards and confidentiality
• Physical capability to perform cleaning duties which may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
