Position Summary

Reporting to the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, venipuncture and procedures as directed by the physician within the scope of practice in the State.

  • Documentation recorded in Electronic Medical Record in accordance with MPA guideline.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Assist in covering front desk as required.
  • Perform general medical procedures.
  • Understand end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliations process.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel to and works at other facilities are requested.

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS.
