About the Role - Mechanical Service Assistant

Do you have a keen interest in mechanics, perhaps a level 2 NVQ?

This role can offergreat learning and development for someone looking to further their career in engineering.

The role of the Mechanical Service Assistant is to assist the engineering team in minor repairs and servicing, learning as you go and developing your skills further.

This is an importantrole withinour depot with great progression opportunities, we can provide all the tools and PPE for you to be successful inyour role.

Key Responsibilities
  • To carry out minor vehicle repairs to keepour fleet moving
  • Carrying out routine vehicle servicing in line with our standard operating procedures
  • To attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries
  • To ensure all parts are booked out from stores using the correct procedure
  • To adhere to good housekeeping practices including general tidiness in the workshop and the return of all tools and equipment to their designated place
  • Taking part in training and development to grow your skills
  • Working with full PPE and overalls provided

Location:Sheffield Olive Grove Depot, S2 3GA

Working Hours: 38.5 hours per week, 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm

Hourly Rate: £15.31 p/h £30,650 p/a

About you
  • A basic knowledge of heavy motor vehicles is essential
