A prominent British aerospace manufacturer is seeking a qualified Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Sheffield. The role involves performing planned preventative maintenance, installing new equipment, and overseeing mechanical tasks during shutdowns. Candidates should be apprentice trained with experience in a heavy forge environment, and a good knowledge of hydraulics is a plus. Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) have an exciting opportunity to join their Maintenance Engineering team as a Maintenance Fitter. The role is working Monday to Friday on working on rotating 2 shift pattern Monday to Friday - 6am-1.30pm and 12-7.30pm.
We would like you to be an apprentice trained Maintenance Engineer who is mechanically bias. You must have experience in a heavy forge environment coupled with good working knowledge of hydraulics, and mobile plant maintenance skills (manipulator, FLT and OHC).
Experience of break downs on presses, hammers, lathes and borers would also be beneficial, however not essential.
We manufacture high-integrity, open-die and closed-die forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel and carbon alloys for customers and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine as well as oil and gas sector. We are unique due to the combination of open and closed-die forging while also undertaking the whole production process from raw material to the finished product in one location
