We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer based in Banbridge to be part of our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan and co-ordinate mechanical project delivery
- Provide input on design strategy and conceptual design on mechanical installations.
- Undertake design calculations for the design of mechanical installations within major building projects.
- Design mechanical installations including the production of design drawings and diagrams, to British Standards, Building Regulations and other relevant standards and to meet requirements for energy efficiency and low carbon.
- Participate in design team meetings, technical workshops, and contribute to the preparation of key project documents (e.g., Engineering Reports, Basis of Design).
- Prepare specifications and design stage reports.
- Ensure compliance with current legislation, relevant planning and health and safety regulations as well as best practice.
- Manage client approvals of our design to achieve signed off construction drawings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams - mechanical, BIM, and external contractors - to produce coordinated MEP designs.
Qualification
- Degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience & Knowledge
- Basic understanding of M&E systems and relevant sector standards.
- 1-2 years of practical experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer within building services.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD for design and coordination tasks.
Abilities & Skills
- Good organisational skills, ability to work within a team and on your own initiative.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general ICT tools.
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
- Excellent organisation skills with ability to meet deadlines.
