Kane Group are an established, and successful multi-disciplinary building-services solution contractor, with our Head Office based in Banbridge, Northern Ireland.

We're an innovative, forward-thinking company with continued steady growth serving residential, hospitality, education, commercial and healthcare sectors with offices in Northern Ireland, London, Birmingham, Glasgow and the Republic of Ireland.

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer based in Banbridge to be part of our growing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, plan and co-ordinate mechanical project delivery
  • Provide input on design strategy and conceptual design on mechanical installations.
  • Undertake design calculations for the design of mechanical installations within major building projects.
  • Design mechanical installations including the production of design drawings and diagrams, to British Standards, Building Regulations and other relevant standards and to meet requirements for energy efficiency and low carbon.
  • Participate in design team meetings, technical workshops, and contribute to the preparation of key project documents (e.g., Engineering Reports, Basis of Design).
  • Prepare specifications and design stage reports.
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation, relevant planning and health and safety regulations as well as best practice.
  • Manage client approvals of our design to achieve signed off construction drawings
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams - mechanical, BIM, and external contractors - to produce coordinated MEP designs.
Qualification
  • Degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience & Knowledge
  • Basic understanding of M&E systems and relevant sector standards.
  • 1-2 years of practical experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer within building services.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD for design and coordination tasks.
Abilities & Skills
  • Good organisational skills, ability to work within a team and on your own initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general ICT tools.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
