Position Overview
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and systems. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and repairing machinery to minimize downtime and support efficient manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to restore equipment functionality
- Conduct inspections and testing of equipment to identify potential problems before they cause downtime
- Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments
- Learn and leverage CMMS maintenance software for preventive maintenance, spare parts inventories, and documentation regarding critical machinery/equipment. Create, update, complete work orders.
- Assist with development of critical safety procedures such as lock out/tag out and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and reports
- Collaborate with production staff and engineers to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Lead, coordinate, assist in the installation and setup of new equipment
- Participate in continuous improvement and Lean initiatives to optimize production and maintenance processes
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years maintenance experience in a modern manufacturing environment working on automated machinery, or degree from a formal maintenance school/institution
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours and emergency situations as needed
