Job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Joiner to join our Building Services Team in Derby.

Working as a Maintenance Joiner you will be responsible for carrying out interior and external maintenance joinery including small works to a high standard.

What you'll do:

  • Interpret and work from instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to his trade, without supervision.
  • Set out new work using relevant tools and materials without supervision.
  • Experience in the machining of timber and fabrication of new joinery.
  • Carry out repairs to ironmongery, blinds, door furniture and glazing.
  • Key cutting.
  • Cut and construct metal framing systems.
  • Prepared to work at high levels on scaffolding.
  • Be able to work on small work schemes without supervision.
  • Ad-hoc on call for emergency work.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • A recognised apprenticeship with a minimum of City & Guilds craft certificate/ NVQ Level 3 IN Carpentry / Joinery and proven experience in the trade.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation.
  • Knowledge of COSHH would be an advantage.
  • Construction skill card holder
  • Full driving licence
