Qualifications

  • MEWP and PASMA qualifications are preferable.

Within our Facilities Management division, the South West Core team plays a crucial role in the day-to-day delivery of reactive and preventative works across diverse properties and systems within our client's sites.

Position

As part of our continued growth, our FM division seeks to appoint an experienced and professional Maintenance Engineer. You will work as part of the South West core facilities team, delivering trade-related solutions to help BJF Group meet and exceed client-specific contractual obligations across multiple estates of varying ages and building types.

Primary responsibilities of the role:

  • Respond to reactive calls, carry out first fixes where possible, and scope quotes for repairs when first fix isn't feasible, ensuring minimal downtime across sites.
  • Perform all planned building and fabrication maintenance tasks as per schedule, maintaining accurate records of works planned and completed.
  • Maintain the site in good decorative order both internally and externally, in line with specifications.
  • Establish strong working relationships to ensure timely completion of daily tasks and projects.

  • Act in the best interests of BJF when on site and dealing with clients.
  • Work safely and to high standards, following best working practices.
  • Take responsibility for the health, safety, and wellbeing of your team and promote a positive health and safety culture.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • MEWP and PASMA qualifications are preferable.
  • City & Guilds or other relevant accredited qualifications.
  • Ability to assess repairs and complete works with minimal guidance.
  • Experience in basic building maintenance and repairs, including painting, decorating, tiling, and plastering.
  • Basic plumbing knowledge, such as clearing blocked drainage and working with compression fittings.
  • Experience with timber and UPVC door and window installation and repairs.
