Job description
LogOps Planning and Performance Manager UK&I

In this role you will support and lead the performance of the logistics network in both the short and long term. In the short term you will work across the Log Ops UK&I team to ensure the optimum performance of the network, through development of effective cost controls and KPIs to ensure that the network and our 3PLs are delivering to target and supporting the delivery of products to our customers at best cost and performance. You will also lead the seasonal network planning process, modelling network capabilities to assess requirements for the seasonal peaks and ensuring that the network has sufficient firepower to deliver, whilst also working closely with finance and MEU teams to ensure that costs are managed to budget and projections. You will also govern process and procedure within the Log Ops team to ensure legal and policy compliance, and work across the team to support on core operational matters as required.

Longer term focus will also be required in a number of areas, namely supporting the local Procurement teams on transport & warehouse tenders as required, but also leading the development of network strategy for the UK&I as we head towards 2030, working cross functionally and with external partners to shape the forward network design strategy and transition plans / operational implications of the network in context of future business changes and plans.

How you will contribute
  • Own the P&L for warehouse operations
  • Manage all activities related to handling and warehousing of finished goods, semi FG and/or raw and pack materials for our distribution centre/s and/or implant warehouse/s in a particular site/geography
  • Create a winning team by developing, coaching, delegating and leading warehouse personnel in the area of responsibility who can drive the business agenda and enable them to have the opportunity to grow in the organization
  • Maintain proper storage and rotation of stock in the warehouse using technology such as a warehouse management system and ensure the warehousing operation minimizes products write-offs and maximizes capacity usage meeting the overall business objectives
  • Manage services to provide a savings to our overall costs, superior service to internal and external customers and ensure safe and legal operation
  • Support network design activities and projects that improve our overall strategic position
  • Monitor third‑party logistics service levels, research causal factors and implement corrective actions to maximize efficiency and maintain strong partnerships with providers

Job specific requirements

The role supports end-to-end logistics (physical flows from plants to customers), including all warehouse, transport and co‑packing operations, in terms of service & cost.

The role works collaboratively with internal and external (third‑party logistics vendors) business partners to ensure effective management, timely solutions and execution.

Key accountabilities
  • Support the team on warehouse, transportation, international logistics (import/export) forward strategy
  • Ensure the network is controlled and has enough capacity to deliver business needs
  • Work with procurement to jointly deliver Tender programmes and develop implementation and BCP programmes to support
  • Be accountable for delivering logistics operational cost budget, ensuring that best‑in‑class controls and governance are in place
  • Monitor effectiveness of Logistics Operations through development and sharing of KPI data packs
  • Manage and develop long‑term relationships with third‑party service providers
  • Establish a business continuity plan for logistics operations
  • Support best‑practices sharing and adoption
