Job summary

A local volunteer organization is seeking enthusiastic individuals to support the Leigh Folk Festival 2026. Volunteers are needed for roles such as stewarding, site build, and artist support from June 25th to 28th. Specific skills are required for certain roles, like photography and donation handling. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community and enjoy a vibrant festival atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Join the festival site build and break team.
  • Assist in stewarding and ensuring safety standards.
  • Be part of the welcome team to greet festival goers.
  • Act as a recycling champion and promote sustainability.
  • Capture the festival atmosphere as a photographer.
  • Provide support for artists and stages throughout the event.

The festival is completely run by volunteers, without whom it could not happen. Next year we need volunteers from the 25th to the 28th of June 2026 in the following roles:

  • Festival site build and break
  • Stewarding
  • Welcome team
  • Recycling champion
  • Festival photographer
  • Artist & Stage support
Skills and requirements
  1. Good communication and listening skills
  2. Teamwork and cooperation skills
  3. A friendly disposition and flexibility

Some of our roles require specific skills:

  • Photographer – proven ability to capture a festival atmosphere with respect and discretion
  • Welcome team – be able to use a card machine and collect donations from festival goers with integrity
  • Festival build and break – physical fitness and ability to follow instructions
  • Artist & Stage support – strong communication skills, confidentiality and discretion, ability to follow instructions
