We are seeking a Lecturer in Health and Social Care to join our supportive and experienced curriculum team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with teaching or training experience who are looking to develop their career in Further Education.

Job Title: Lecturer in Health and Social Care

Part time, term time only, 12 hours a week, 36 hours a year

About the role
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Access, Health and Social Care
  • Design schemes of work and learning materials aligned with awarding body requirements
  • Assess, mark and provide constructive feedback to learners
  • Support student progress through guidance, tutoring and pastoral support
  • Contribute to student recruitment activities, including open events and course promotion
  • Support course leadership activities in line with a Band 1 Lecturer role
  • Work collaboratively with Course Leaders, Area Head and Assistant Area Head to ensure high-quality provision
  • Maintain student discipline and promote positive learning environments
  • Participate in internal and external quality assurance and verification processes
  • Monitor and raise learner achievement in line with awarding body standards
  • Maintain and update professional subject knowledge
  • Promote and adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion, and college values
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required
Essential Experience
  • Experience of teaching or training within the Health or Social Care.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of working with learners with a wide range of needs.
Essential Criteria
  • Education to degree level or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent
  • Level 5 Teaching Qualification / completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course
