Job description

Continuous Improvement (CI) Leads plays a key role supporting Rugby’s Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives. The CI Technician ensures production quality and efficiency by assisting with process flow improvements and leading lean events. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Support and actively participate in continuous process improvement and Lean initiatives.
  • Lay out, position, and align components using blueprints.
  • Apply and promote 5S principles to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen teams to identify and implement improvements.
  • Conduct time studies and observations and collect data for event planning and follow-up.
  • Apply a systematic problem‑solving approach to current issues; understand the current state, complete root cause analysis, and identify potential solutions.
  • Identify and help implement product and process improvements.
  • Perform other work‑related tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Must be flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations, resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
  • Ability to achieve results in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manually handle up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending).
  • Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
  • Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations.
  • Problem‑solving, root cause analysis, and detail‑oriented.
