Job description
Lead Electrical Design Engineer

Locations: Dewsbury, Warrington, Basingstoke, Kent, Portsmouth, West Thurrock.

Owing to continued sustainable growth, we are recruiting an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to support projects for our Asset Management & Technical Services platform across England. You will lead all aspects of projects, from scoping and detailed design through to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications, regulatory standards, and a strong focus on low‑carbon solutions.

Key Duties
  • Meet with clients to discuss specific intervention requirements.
  • Lead the development of bids and proposals for new projects or strategic frameworks.
  • Plan and implement projects in association with Delivery Management teams.
  • Line‑manage and develop assigned EICA staff.
  • Take the lead on EICA design deliverables and activities within the business stream.
  • Provide technical guidance on EICA matters to the wider project team and Senior Management.
  • Mentor, identify, and develop the next generation of EICA Engineering talent.
  • Continue to drive and shape RSE’s journey towards Net Zero.
Requirements
  • Degree, HND, or HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Professional Registration with IET, InstMC, or similar (IEng, CEng).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • A passion to succeed and develop your career.
  • Well‑developed knowledge of British and European design standards.
  • Proven management capability across project development, design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Pre‑construction design and cost evaluation knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
