Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter to join our team at one of our commercial cafe's in Cambridge CB2 1SU.

This is a permanent position working 24 hours a week on a rota basis which will include every Saturday. The cafe operates between 9am and 5:30pm.

Wilson Vale is an established, quality-led contract caterer. We work with amazing clients across the UK who place huge value on great food as a key part of their culture and community. We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high‑end ethos throughout.

In this role, you’ll help keep the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly by washing dishes, utensils and equipment, maintaining tidy work areas, assisting with basic food preparation, unloading and storing deliveries, and disposing of waste safely. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well under pressure as part of a team. Good attention to detail and time management skills are essential, and while experience in a similar role is an advantage, full training will be provided. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high‑pressured environment
• Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy

• Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
