Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bradford for an Import Export Shipping Manager. You will be responsible for managing the movement of goods globally via Sea, Air and Road. Responsibilities will include:

  • Confirming and processing of overseas sales and purchase orders
  • Obtain quotations for the overseas movement of goods
  • Liaising with shipping, freight forwarders and transport companies to arrange shipments, both from UK and overseas
  • Arranging the booking-in of both export and import goods with the warehouse
  • Advising shipping agents of details of the cargo for customs purposes
  • Checking documents raised by shipping agents (e.g. Bills of Lading)
  • Preparing export documentation (invoices, packing lists, certs of origin and other commercial documents)
  • Checking export documents before presentation to banks / clients
  • Presenting import documents to clearing agents to arrange clearance of import cargo
  • Liaising with customers regarding current and future shipmentsDealing with suppliers in UK and overseas to arrange cargo for shipment
  • Arranging couriers for documents and sample goods
  • Collating and filing of documents within the shipping office and accounts office
  • Any other duties relevant to the department
Qualifications

  • Excellent Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to a fast‑paced work environment

  • Understanding of compliance regulations related to global shipping and trade
  • Strong attention to detail
  • 3 years experience in shipping preferred
