Job summary

A leading food manufacturing company in the UK is seeking a Hygiene Supervisor to oversee hygiene operations and ensure compliance with safety standards. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hygiene supervisory role preferred.

  • Fluency in English; other languages are a bonus.

Impact

As our Hygiene Team Supervisor, you’ll lead from the front to ensure the highest hygiene and food safety standards are upheld across our manufacturing site. You’ll manage and motivate a team of hygiene operatives to deliver a safe, compliant, and spotless environment—ready for production every single day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise day‑to‑day hygiene operations, including scheduled deep cleans, routine tasks, and reactive cleans.
  • Manage and coach a team of hygiene operatives—setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and maintaining high morale.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations (BRC, HACCP, COSHH, etc.) and internal standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, and hygiene audits.
  • Carry out hygiene inspections and support internal/external audits.
  • Work closely with the Technical and Production teams to ensure hygiene tasks are aligned with production needs.
  • Maintain stock levels of hygiene equipment and cleaning chemicals, ensuring safe storage and usage.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to drive hygiene efficiency and effectiveness.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a hygiene supervisory role within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, BRCGS, and HACCP requirements.
  • Confident in leading a team, giving clear instructions, and handling performance conversations.
  • Strong attention to detail, with pride in a clean and organised workspace.
  • Able to work under pressure and adapt in a fast‑moving, scale‑up environment.
  • Trained in COSHH and chemical safety (desirable).
  • Fluent in English; other language skills are a bonus.
