A local council in Horsham is seeking a detail-oriented Housing Services Assistant to join their Housing team. Horsham District Council is looking for a detail-focused and organised individual to join our Housing team as a Housing Services Assistant and help us make a difference in people’s lives.
As a Housing Services Assistant, you will coordinate emergency housing placements for households in need, liaise with accommodation providers, and keep accurate records. You will also process invoices, set up suppliers, manage rent accounts, and assist with housing benefit claims—ensuring our services run smoothly and efficiently.
The position is full-time and the post holder is required to working 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

To succeed as Housing Services Assistant, you will be a customer-focused professional with experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, landlords, agencies, and vulnerable individuals. You will possess strong attention to detail, along with proven organisational and time management skills.
You should be confident using IT systems and adaptable to learning new software packages. Familiarity with housing-related benefits such as Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, and Personal Independence Payments would be beneficial.
