Job description

Housing Quality Officers manage asset services for a designated patch of homes, ensuring repairs, maintenance, and improvement works meet standards. They oversee reactive and void property works, support planned and cyclical projects, and contribute to Welsh Housing Quality Standard and sustainability goals. The role involves working with residents, providing technical support, managing contracts, monitoring budgets, and delivering a customer-focused service through surveying, asset management, and quality assurance.

About you
  • Strong technical expertise in building construction, maintenance, and identifying defects, with the ability to specify and schedule remedial works.
  • Experience in managing and quality-assuring construction projects, including contract management and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain technical issues clearly and work collaboratively with residents, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Organisational and problem-solving ability, capable of managing competing priorities and delivering value-for-money solutions.
  • Commitment to customer-focused service delivery, with a passion for improving housing quality and resident satisfaction.
  • Proactive approach to sustainability and compliance, supporting standards like Welsh Housing Quality and CDM regulations.
What you will do
  • Deliver asset management services for a designated patch, managing budgets and responding to tenant and stakeholder requests.
  • Inspect, specify, oversee, and quality assure day-to-day repairs and void property works to meet standards and deadlines.
  • Contribute to improvement programs and sustainability goals, including environmental works and Welsh Housing Quality Standard compliance.
  • Manage contracts and procurement, including preparing specifications, supervising works, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
  • Conduct surveys and maintain asset data, supporting planned maintenance and accurate stock condition records.
  • Provide technical advice and support, liaising with contractors, resolving issues, and promoting continuous improvement.

Salary: Grade 10Point 27 to Point 29 £38,220 to £39,862 per annum £19.81 to £20.66 per hour
