Job description

Be among the first 25 applicants this week. This post is for motivated, reliable and hard‑working HGV technicians of all levels based at our client’s depot in Widnes. Pay and shift patterns are:

Days and Split Shifts Pay Rates
  • Level 1 / Time served – £17.54 per hour
  • Level 2 and 3 rates are higher and negotiable.
Days and Split Shifts Overtime Rates
  • Level 1 / Time served – £26.32 per hour
Hours of Work
  • Week 1: 06:00–14:30, Monday to Friday
  • Week 2: 13:00–21:30, Monday to Friday
  • Saturdays: 08:00–12:00, every other Saturday
  • Approx. 5–10 hours overtime available each week

You must have relevant Engineering qualifications, such as NVQ/City and Guilds Level 2 or above in HGV mechanics, IRTEC or Mechanical Engineering (military equivalent acceptable).

Role of HGV Technician
  • Carry out diagnostics, inspections, service routines, repairs and testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner, using time effectively.
  • Report findings and carry out all repairs to manufacturer standards.
  • Report to the shift supervisor.
  • Investigate and diagnose faults.
  • Observe Health and Safety rules.
  • Liaise with the parts department effectively.
